At a rendering plant in Russia, wastewater with high organic loads must be treated prior to discharge.
The treatment follows a proven concept that had already been used by customer in Europe. The plant consists of a Biomar® OMB aerobic treatment system with intermittent denitrification/nitrification and subsequent sludge removal using an MBR process (membrane bioreactor) with submerged ultrafiltration membranes.
Result: The treated water reliably complies with all applicable limits. The organic content is reduced by far more than 90%.
