A global dairy cooperative was looking for a solution to sustainably treat vapour condensate at one of its German sites. The goal was to reuse it in production and thus reduce fresh water consumption and operating costs.
Following a thorough process analysis, a combination of Biomar® biological treatment and an Envopur® membrane process was recommended. Up to 85% fresh water can be recovered from the vapour condensate produced in the plant.
The water recovered can be used for various purposes, including as rinsing water, cooling tower make-up water or boiler feed water.
